Hey everyone, I've been thinking a lot about Patrick L. Starks lately, especially how his murder is one of those cases that really underscores the tough realities many neighborhoods faced back in 2011. I came across his name while looking through some community-driven databases, and it got me thinking about those efforts to track and remember victims. It's so important that these records exist—not just for statistics but to remind us that every number represents a real person with loved ones who are still grieving. I know we've seen some progress in terms of awareness and reform, but I can't help but wonder if the initiatives that existed back then had the support they needed. Are community-driven databases and projects still around and thriving? Or have they fallen by the wayside as the years passed? I'm hoping that by learning more about the work being done, we can honor Patrick and others by pushing for sustained change and support for similar efforts today. Wishing peace for Patrick’s family and all those affected. Stay safe, folks.
