Does anyone else find it strange how intense the confrontation got in Okmulgee County back in 1908? I mean, over 500 shots fired?! It's hard to wrap my head around such a wild scene, and it's truly devastating to think about how the lives of so many officers and their families were shattered in an instant. I keep thinking about Sheriff Robinson's family. He was only a year into his role, and from what I've read, he seemed like someone genuinely dedicated to keeping the community safe. The fact that he left behind a wife and two kids who had to navigate life without him is truly sorrowful. Sometimes, I wonder if things could have played out differently. Was there a way to de-escalate the situation, or was it doomed from the start? It’s a grim reminder of the unpredictability and risks that come with enforcing the law, especially during those times. My heart goes out to all those affected by this tragedy.
