Has anyone else looked into the impact Robert S. Garrett's death had on the local community back in 1909? It's truly touching to see how much his dedication resonated with the people of Hastings. Not only was he performing his duties as City Marshal, but he was also caught in the crossfire of a highly sensitive issue like eminent domain, which must have been extremely challenging for everyone involved. It makes me wonder how the community supported his family afterward. What do you all think about the balance between serving the law and addressing the personal grievances it sometimes causes? I can't imagine the conflict and emotions everyone must have dealt with during that time.
