Has anyone else been struck by the lack of closure in the case of Deputy Sheriff Ben F. Pearson? It's truly unsettling to think how a crime like this can go unsolved for so long. I understand that back in 1910, the resources for manhunts and forensic investigations were nowhere near what they are today, but it still leaves such a huge gap for his family and the community. I can't help but reflect on the sense of injustice felt by his wife and children, knowing the person responsible for tearing apart their lives was never brought to justice. It makes me wonder how many other cases are out there with a similar story—brave individuals serving their community, only for justice to elude them. What are everyone's thoughts on cold cases and the ripple effect they have on those left behind?
