I’ve been following E.J. Zenon’s case with a heavy heart, and something that’s been bothering me is just how young all the involved individuals are. It’s truly devastating to think about all these futures that are ruined—not just E.J.’s, but also the lives of the ones who were caught up in this horrible choice.
E.J. seemed like such a bright light, both on and off the field, and it's so sad to see such potential just gone. For everyone still in school at Prague High or impacted by this, this must have been so tough. I can’t imagine trying to process the loss of a friend and classmate in such a violent way. The counseling support provided to the students was crucial, and I hope those affected found some solace in that. Times like these remind us how important it is to lean on each other and talk about what we’re going through.
What particularly hits hard for me is thinking about the choices that led up to that night. So many lives took life-altering turns, and none for the better. I’m hoping that there’s a way to channel this tragedy into something positive, encouraging more support systems or education to keep kids away from such dangerous paths.
I'm still thinking about E.J. Zenon and the incredible outpouring of support from the Prague community after his tragic passing. I recently read about how Prague High held a candlelight vigil in his honor, and it really struck me how much of an impact he had on those around him. From his teachers to his teammates, it seems like everyone had nothing but kind words and fond memories of him.
It's just heartbreaking to see such a vibrant young life cut short by senseless violence. E.J. was not only a gifted athlete but also someone who clearly valued his education and future. My thoughts are with his family and friends as they continue to navigate this unimaginable loss. It's comforting to see how the community came together to support one another, but it's also a stark reminder of how devastating and far-reaching the consequences of such violence can be.
