I’ve been following Richard Daryl Medlock’s case since it was first reported, and one thing that really stands out to me is the role of ballistics evidence in securing an arrest. It's chilling to think about how crucial those five 9mm casings found at the scene were. The fact that they could match them to a specific weapon and then to a suspect is both fascinating and heartbreaking, considering the weight this carries in deciding the fate of everyone involved. I can't imagine what Richard's family has been through all these years, enduring the uncertainty and waiting for justice. It must be a small comfort to see the efforts of the OSBI and local authorities paying off, knowing they've used every available resource to move towards accountability. As this unfolds, let's keep his loved ones in our thoughts; they’re the ones who need it most as they continue to navigate life without him.
