Hey everyone, I've been following the Michael Jerome Young case, and it's been so heavy on my mind lately. I can't stop thinking about how quickly things escalated that day. It just seems so senseless that a situation intended to resolve a conflict turned into something so devastating. Michael was there to help, to be the peacemaker, and it's heartbreaking that his compassion was met with violence. Something I've been curious about is how the community is coping and coming together in Del City after such a tragic event. Losing someone like Michael, who was clearly trying to do the right thing, must be such a blow to everyone who knew him. Has there been any community gatherings or vigils? I just feel like it’s these moments when it’s important for people to come together to support one another and heal. I hope the justice system sees this case through to the end and gives Michael’s family the closure they desperately need. My thoughts are with them all during this incredibly difficult time. Take care, everyone.

I’ve been thinking about the courage it must've taken for Michael Jerome Young to step in and try to defuse the situation. It's such a terrible shame that his attempt at peace turned so tragically. He was just trying to protect his younger brother, and it cost him his life. The emotional toll on his family must be unimaginable, especially for his sister, who not only suffered physical injuries but also witnessed her brother’s death. With Michael gone, the family has to pick up the pieces and somehow find a way to move forward. My heart goes out to them, and I hope justice is served for Michael. It makes me ponder on how a split-second decision can change so many lives forever.
