I was thinking recently about the significance of the 7-Eleven in this case. I can't even begin to imagine what Myesha Alexander must have gone through that night, fleeing to that store for safety. It's not just a place to grab snacks or a coffee—it became a lifeline for her in that critical moment. I’m glad she found somewhere safe to call for help, but thinking about how such ordinary places become the backdrop for extraordinary trauma really makes you reflect on the nature of these crimes. My heart goes out to Myesha, Phillip's family, and their children, who will have to grow up with this tragedy shaping their lives. It's a reminder about the unpredictable nature of life and the importance of community spaces in our moments of need.
