Hey everyone,
I just wanted to drop in and mention something that's been bothering me about Curtis Canino's case. I've been thinking a lot about the support from the local music scene after his passing. It's so moving to see how everyone came together to celebrate his life with that benefit show at Bottom Lounge. It really shows how much Curtis meant to so many people and how deeply he touched the community. Even though I'm not from Chicago, hearing about the unity and love at that event makes me wish I could have been there to pay my respects. Can anyone who attended share more about the atmosphere or their memories of Curtis? I feel like these personal stories can really help keep his memory alive. ?
Has anyone else taken a deeper look at Curtis Canino's musical ties and performances leading up to that tragic night? It seems like he was really in his element when playing with Lygate and Death By Design, and I can't help but wonder if any of his recent gigs or interactions in the music scene could provide clues or context to the horrible events of August 4, 2011. It's so disheartening to think that someone so integral to the community was lost to such senseless violence. Perhaps reaching out to venue staff or fellow musicians who played with him that week might shed some light on whether anything felt off or if there were any tensions we don’t know about. We owe it to Curtis and his loved ones to explore every angle. Sending peace and strength to all who miss him dearly.
I recently stumbled upon Curtis Canino’s case, and I can't help but focus on the beautiful tribute paid to him by the community. The benefit show at Bottom Lounge speaks volumes about what kind of person Curtis must have been. It’s clear he touched a lot of lives, not only through his music but also with his kindness and personality. I find it incredibly moving how the music community came together to honor him, channeling their grief into something positive. It reminds us all of the power of music to unite people and the importance of standing together against such senseless violence. For those who attended the show or knew Curtis, how did the event reflect his spirit? Would love to hear more about how he impacted those around him.
