What's really sticking out to me about this case is the involvement of the "good Samaritan." It's amazing how quickly the crew of the Skana was able to respond and locate Hayden Green's body. They must've been really close by to get there so fast. I'm wondering if anyone else knows about other instances where local vessels or tour companies have played a critical role in search and rescue operations? It seems like having experienced locals who know the waters well can really make a difference in emergencies like this. Just curious how often this kind of collaboration happens between local operators and the Coast Guard or other authorities.

Hey everyone, I came across some updates about the missing boaters in Aialik Bay and was curious if anyone else had thoughts on the timing of the mayday call. It seems strange to me that they managed to get the distress signal out so early in the morning, at 5:30 a.m. It makes me wonder if the situation was escalating slowly throughout the night or if something sudden prompted them to call for help. Given the rough weather was a factor, maybe they were trying to manage without assistance at first? I’ve read a few threads about weather-related incidents like this one, and it seems common for things to deteriorate quickly once conditions hit a certain point. Hope the Dive Team can bring some closure soon.
