I wanted to share some thoughts on the Crandon shooting and remember Lianna Faye Thomas specifically. It's been on my mind how much of a loss her untapped potential represents. From what I've gathered, Lianna was deeply passionate about music and had dreams of pursuing it further in college. It's so disheartening that she never got the chance to follow those dreams because of such a senseless act.
In tragedies like this, I find myself reflecting on the futures that were stolen from the victims and all their potential contributions to the world that we will never know. Lianna’s friends have spoken fondly about her love for singing and performing, describing how she brought joy to those around her. It’s a stark reminder of the talent and light that has been lost.
Does anyone else here happen to have stories or memories of Lianna or any of the other victims they can share? I think it’s important we remember them not just for the tragedy but for the people they were and the bright futures they had ahead. Keeping their memories alive helps honor their lives and might offer some comfort to those who knew and loved them. ?
Hey everyone,
Just wanted to take a moment to talk about something that has been on my mind regarding the Crandon shooting. I’ve been thinking about the aftermath and how the community dealt with the emotional trauma. Lianna Faye Thomas and the other young souls left such a void, not just in their families, but throughout the town. Speaking from experience, small towns tend to pull in tight after tragedies like this, but it also means everyone feels the loss just as deeply.
From what I’ve gathered, the local schools and religious groups really tried to offer support in the months that followed. Counselors were brought in, and there were candlelight vigils, but I can’t help but wonder if that’s ever enough when something this horrific happens. For those from Crandon or similar communities, how did these support efforts help you, or do you feel that more could have been done to support those left behind? It’s tough to know how to heal wounds this deep when families and friends are left with more questions than answers.
My heart is with Lianna’s family and others who were impacted. We should never forget those who were lost and continue to strive for a way to prevent such things from happening again.
I've been thinking a lot about Lianna Faye Thomas and the tragedy that happened in Crandon. What an awful ordeal for such a small community to go through. From what I've read, Lianna was passionate about music and had big dreams of going to college to pursue that love further. It's heartbreaking to see that a bright future like hers was taken away. I'm left wondering how the community is holding up today, all these years later. Have there been any local initiatives or memorials set up in her honor or for the other victims? It would be comforting to know that their memories are being kept alive somehow. Such a senseless loss makes you think about the importance of coming together to support one another during these incredibly difficult times.
