Hey everyone, I just can't stop thinking about young Damon in all of this. It must have been unimaginably traumatic for him to witness something so horrific at such a tender age. I keep wondering what support systems were put in place for him afterward. I hope he got the counseling he needed to help process this tragedy. It's devastating to think that his memories of his mother are entwined with such a terrible event. I know the Janesville community is close-knit and supportive, so I hope they rallied around him and gave him as much support as possible. Kids should be worrying about their next play date, not living through nightmares like this. Erica and her family deserved so much better. My heart goes out to them as they continue to navigate life after such a tragedy. If anyone has any information on services or initiatives in the community aimed at supporting children who've experienced trauma like Damon, it'd be good to learn more about how effective they are and if there's anything more we can do as a community.
