Hey everyone,
I've been following the case of John D. Chelig and feeling so much for his family. One thing that's been on my mind is the role of substance use in this tragedy. It's truly unsettling to think how alcohol can impair judgment, especially when firearms are involved. I mean, it’s one thing to have a drink and relax, but having a gun in play changes everything. It just takes a split-second mistake for something irreversible to happen. I can't even imagine the pain John's family is going through, and honestly, Benjamin Masch too, given the circumstances.
Has anyone heard if the court has considered any expert testimonies on the effects of alcohol on decision-making in cases like this? It seems like such an essential piece to understanding what went wrong that night. Just heartbreaking all around.
