Does anyone else find it strange that Breck McDowell Phelps’ phone was turned off? I mean, considering he was an experienced fisherman and familiar with the Stanislaus River area, wouldn’t it be instinctive to keep some form of communication open, especially if anything unexpected were to happen? I’ve read theories that suggest he might’ve accidentally turned it off or it ran out of battery, but it just doesn’t add up for me. Also, with the rugged terrain around Donnell Vista Point, having a working phone seems crucial in case of an emergency. Has anyone heard if they tried checking local shops or gas stations for security footage during the time leading up to his disappearance? Maybe he stopped somewhere and there's a clue waiting to be discovered. It’s baffling how someone familiar with the area could just vanish without a trace.
