It's incredibly sad to hear about Donell Banks' murder and the ongoing issues with gun violence in Milwaukee. I find myself particularly troubled by the lack of closure for the families left behind. It's unimaginable to go without answers for so long, and my heart goes out to them. Something that stands out to me is the need for community involvement to help break the silence surrounding these cases. I wonder if there are community-led initiatives or neighborhood groups working to create a bridge with law enforcement to encourage more people to share what they know. Increased dialogue between police and residents could potentially uncover witnesses who are afraid or unsure about coming forward. Has anyone heard of any successful programs like this in other areas that maybe Milwaukee could adopt? Seeing so many lives lost is overwhelmingly frustrating, and I sincerely hope that something changes soon. Families like Donell's deserve justice and the knowledge that their loved ones' deaths aren't forgotten.
