Does anyone else find it gut-wrenching that Justin's family was preparing for such a simple, joyful day of fishing before this senseless act of violence shattered their world? It's so hard to comprehend how a wonderful day could turn into an unimaginable tragedy in just seconds. I can’t stop thinking about what Justin must have thought in those final moments, excited and full of energy as he was about to join his stepfather for that trip. It’s important we remember he was just a little boy with a whole life ahead of him. Milwaukee, like many cities, needs better solutions to address the root causes of gun violence. This shouldn't keep happening. My heart goes out to the family, and I hope Justin’s memory stays at the forefront as a call to change. Would love to hear others’ thoughts on what can be done to prevent tragedies like this.
