Hey everyone, I’ve been following Shay’s case closely and just can’t stop thinking about how vibrant his life seemed. I was particularly touched by his love for working with kids at MSCR. It's so clear from everything that's been shared that Shay had such a genuine way with people, especially younger ones. I can imagine how those kids looked up to him; someone who balanced school, sports, and a job with such passion. It’s deeply sad to think about all the positive things he could have accomplished and the lives he would have continued to touch. I hope the community can keep his spirit alive by supporting youth programs and fostering environments where young people feel safe and loved. Sending out love and strength to Shay’s family and everyone who knew him. His story has certainly made me reflect on how we can all step up to be better mentors for the youth around us.

I was reflecting on Shay's involvement with sports and how that might've shaped his character. It's so devastating to think about how someone so young and active, who presumably loved the adrenaline and teamwork sports provide, got caught up in such a tragic situation. I read about how he played football, basketball, and ran track—a true all-rounder, it seems. This shows that he was disciplined and determined, qualities often admired and respected in young people. It makes me wonder what led to that fateful “dispute.” Was there pressure to maintain an image or financial struggles possibly tied to his passion for sports? My heart goes out to his teammates and coaches who must miss his presence both on and off the field. Such a painful loss for a community that surely saw a bright future ahead for him.
