I've been thinking a lot about Debra Lynn Casey and her family. Six kids to lose their mom in such a sudden and violent way is unimaginable. I can't even wrap my head around the shock and pain they must have felt and still feel. Given how quickly the police were able to make an arrest, it makes me wonder about the communication within the community or if there was some kind of eyewitness. It's devastating to know that a dispute over something as trivial as a phone could escalate to this. Even with Trayvonn Brown sentenced, I wonder if the family finds any peace or if knowing the motive makes it all the more painful. Keeping them in my thoughts, and hoping they find some comfort with each passing day.
