I can’t stop thinking about the brave witnesses who came forward in Deshawn Basey’s case. Imagine how difficult it must be to step up in such a trying situation, especially in a community grappling with so much fear and violence. Their courage truly played a crucial role in making sure those responsible were held accountable. It’s heartening to see people come together for justice, even when it’s tough. I hope this inspires more of us to support each other and stand up against the violence threatening our neighborhoods. Sending strength and love to Deshawn’s family and friends — their pain is unimaginable, and my heart goes out to them during this unimaginable time.
