I’ve been thinking a lot about the role community resources play in preventing tragedies like what happened to Jessica Ewers. It seems like there’s a lot of emphasis on alerting the public about available support for those in domestic violence situations, but I wonder how effective these efforts truly are on the ground. Were enough resources available to Jessica and others in similar situations? Did she know about them, and were they accessible to her when she needed them? It's absolutely terrible to think that someone like Jessica, known for being so full of love and creativity, had to experience such a horrifying end. It’s vital we ensure people know where to turn before things escalate to such an unthinkable point. Does anyone know more about what’s available in Sun Prairie or Dane County? I feel for Jessica's family. Let's hope something positive can come out of this by shedding more light on what more can be done.
