I couldn't stop thinking about Treyvon M. Heard's case after reading about it. It's such a tragedy to see another young life taken due to gun violence. Given what was shared, it seems like Treyvon was caught up in something much larger than himself—a wave of violence that's overwhelmed Milwaukee, especially during the pandemic. What gets me the most is how random it appears. Just another day, another statistic, but behind those numbers are real people, dreams unfulfilled, and families shattered. It must be excruciating for Treyvon's family to still be without answers and justice, with no clear picture of what happened or why it all had to end this way for him. It's good to see community leaders stepping up and talking about prevention and support, but I keep wondering, will it be enough? With only one arrest that might not even be tied to his case, it makes you question what needs to change to prevent this from happening again. For anyone who knew Treyvon or is affected by Milwaukee's violence, this must feel like an uphill battle. My heart goes out to all the families dealing with this pain, hoping they find some peace and justice soon.

With so many families hurting in Milwaukee this year, my thoughts are especially with the Heard family today. It shakes me up seeing how the violence taking lives keeps involving young people. I recently read about the programs being pushed by local leaders, like Pathfinders and Running Rebels—they seem like a step in the right direction. These resources not only provide support but also offer our youth other avenues to explore instead of paths that lead to tragedy. What more do you all think the community could do to reach out to keep our children safe and engaged? How do we support these programs and make them even more effective? For Treyvon's sake, and so many others like him, we can't let his story become just another statistic. Let's keep sharing ideas and hope for change.

It's essential that we not only remember Treyvon but also actively push for changes that might prevent something like this from happening again. Keeping our young people engaged and providing them with safe spaces to grow feels like a crucial step.
