I'm really trying to wrap my head around how something so tragic can unfold in broad daylight with so many people around. Witnesses mentioned that there was a crowd gathered, which makes me wonder if anyone else is reflecting on their own actions or inactions during this horrible event. That one bystander who told Barfield "it wasn't that serious" must feel incredibly heavy about the whole situation. It’s such a stark reminder of how quickly things can escalate when tempers flare, especially when weapons are involved. I hope anyone who saw the incident finds a way to process this and support each other and Lee Holton's family through their unimaginable loss. It’s just devastating to hear about another life cut short, and I really hope this opens up more conversations about preventing such tragedies in our communities.
