I’ve been following Quentin's case closely and something that's really gotten under my skin is the role that gang affiliations play in young people's lives. It’s deeply distressing to think about how a teen like Quentin might feel trapped by these associations, possibly believing that gang life is the only path available to them. It breaks my heart to think that these kids get caught up in battles they never asked for and end up paying the ultimate price. What can communities do to provide real alternatives and support to ensure that kids like Quentin have the chance to choose different paths? My heart goes out to Quentin’s loved ones; this kind of loss must be unimaginable.
