Hi everyone,
I've been following the case of Reginald T. Allen, also known as Mya, and something that's been really weighing on my mind is the importance of Mya’s own bravery before their tragic death. It's incredibly sad to think about, but we have to acknowledge just how crucial their 911 call was in identifying their attacker and ensuring justice is pursued.
I can't begin to imagine the strength it took for Mya to make that call under such distress, yet it turns out to be a key piece that led to identifying Clayton Hubbird as the suspect. It's a testament to Mya’s courage even in their direst moment, and this bravery deserves recognition beyond just another piece of news in the investigation.
As a community, it feels so important to honor Mya not just by remembering the joy they brought into others' lives, but by standing by their loved ones as they seek justice. Let’s keep discussing ways we can raise awareness about violence against trans individuals and support each other in navigating these tragedies. Every person’s voice can make a difference, just like Mya’s did.
We need to be there for Mya’s family and friends, helping them through this and advocating alongside them. Sending love and strength to all who knew and cherished Mya.
