I can't help but feel deep frustration over how Officer Waterbury's case just slipped through the cracks. For a member of the law enforcement community to be gunned down, and then for the perp to vanish without a trace, is just unfathomable. I mean, we’re talking about a cop on duty and the case went cold? That speaks volumes about the challenges of detective work back then, but still, it leaves a bitter taste. It's haunting to think that his family never got the justice they deserved, and after 114 years, this crime is still unsolved. I wonder if there were any plausible theories or if every lead just hit a dead end... It's hard not to think about the pain his family must have endured, especially knowing the murderer was never caught.
