Does anyone else find it particularly haunting that Ralph Bishop couldn't hear what was happening due to not wearing his hearing aid? It's devastating to think about how just one small oversight or unfortunate circumstance can lead to such a tragedy. Deputy Silkworth was out there doing his duty, trying to protect the community, and then something like this happens. It's comforting to know that it led to improvements in safety protocols, but it's just so hard to wrap my mind around how a simple miscommunication had such a profound impact on so many lives. My heart goes out to Deputy Silkworth's family and the wounded deputies who lived through that chaotic scene. Does anyone have any insights on how police protocols have changed over the years to prevent something like this from happening again?
