I've been thinking a lot about the ripple effects of hate crimes, especially after reading more about Pam Waechter's tragic death. It's clear she was such a beacon of love and community service, dedicating her life to building connections and helping others. The way her legacy continues through the Pamela Waechter z"l Jewish Communal Professional Award is incredibly moving. It ensures her spirit lives on, encouraging others in the community to strive for the same passion and commitment she showed. It must be incredibly difficult for her family and friends to grapple with the loss of such a vibrant and generous individual. I can't imagine the pain they must feel, but I hope knowing Pam's ideals and values are still celebrated and honored brings them some comfort. The community she helped build continues to thrive, and that’s a beautiful testament to her life and work. Sending lots of love and strength to everyone who knew Pam, and to all those who are working tirelessly against the hate that led to such a senseless act.

It's so difficult to read about Pam Waechter's last moments. The sheer strength it must have taken for her to try and escape after being shot is unimaginable. I can't help but think about the bravery she showed even in such a terrifying situation. It really speaks to her character and dedication to life itself. Knowing that she was someone who dedicated so much of her life to community service and helping others, it's a tragic loss for everyone who knew her and benefitted from her work. Pam's legacy within the Seattle Jewish community is felt strongly, and the award named in her honor is a beautiful way to continue her work and recognize others who follow in her footsteps. My thoughts go out to her family and friends as they continue to navigate life without her. She clearly left an indelible mark on those she touched, both personally and professionally.
