I can't stop thinking about the 9-1-1 call Erica managed to make during this horrific event. That one act of desperate hope is haunting. It breaks my heart to consider how close the authorities might have come to intervening before the unimaginable happened. To think that Erica, even in her dire situation, had the presence of mind to try and call for help just speaks volumes about her bravery and determination to protect her family. It's truly tragic that the initial response wasn't enough to save them. My thoughts are with all the innocent lives lost that day and the families who have to carry on without them. How does a community heal from something so devastating, especially around the holidays when reminders are everywhere?
