Hey everyone,
I’ve been following the Freeman High School shooting case and have been struck by the role of the school janitor during that tragic day. I haven’t seen much discussion about him, but it sounds like his intervention was crucial in bringing the situation to a halt. From what I’ve gathered, he confronted Caleb Sharpe and persuaded him to surrender, preventing further harm.
It’s astounding to think about the split-second decision-making that’s involved in such high-pressure moments. The courage it must have taken for the janitor to step in when things were at their absolute worst is incredible. This act of bravery undoubtedly prevented more bloodshed.
I can’t help but think about how everyone at the school that day probably did their best to keep each other safe amidst the chaos. It's so important to acknowledge all the unsung heroes in these horrific events. I hope the janitor knows how much his actions meant to the families of those injured and everyone in the community.
Sending lots of love and strength to the Freeman community, especially Sam’s family and those who knew him. ? Let's keep the conversation going about how we can prevent these tragedies from happening again.
Warmest regards,

The courage that Sam Strahan showed on that horrific day at Freeman High School is something that stays with me. Thinking about the selflessness and bravery a 15-year-old possessed leaves me in awe. I can't imagine how much pain Sam's family has gone through, especially after already losing his father earlier that same year. It's gut-wrenching.
I've read how many in the community saw Sam as a hero, and rightfully so. Standing up to someone armed and dangerous isn't something many adults could do, let alone a teenager. It speaks volumes about his character and the kind of person he was. My heart goes out to his mom, Ami, and his sister, Emily. No one should have to endure such loss so close together.
This also brings up important discussions about school safety and the importance of supporting mental health initiatives. It's vital that we keep pushing for changes that might prevent tragedies like this from happening again. Sam’s legacy should drive us to find ways for schools to be places of learning and safety, where students can thrive without fear.
I've been following the Freeman High School shooting and Sam Strahan's story has truly touched my heart. I wanted to take a moment to express my deep admiration for the courage he showed that day. It's absolutely gut-wrenching to think about the incredible loss his family has endured, especially after losing his father just months prior. I can't imagine the strength it takes for Sam’s mother, Ami, and sister, Emily, to carry on with such grace and resilience.
Sam's selfless actions undoubtedly saved countless lives, and I hope his bravery encourages more conversations about empowering and educating students on how to stay safe during such unthinkable events. It’s crucial that we continue to support initiatives that promote mental health awareness and ensure that schools are a secure environment for all students. They deserved better - everyone deserves better.
My thoughts are with all the families affected. Sam will always be remembered as a hero.
