I came across Brent Arancio's story and just can’t stop thinking about the immense loss his family must be feeling. Brent seemed like such a dedicated individual, not just to his country with his military service, but to his community and family too. I can’t imagine what his kids are going through right now. Losing a parent in such a sudden and violent way is incomprehensible. It’s disturbing that $150 was all it took for this senseless tragedy. I just hope that Brent’s family finds some semblance of peace and comfort as they navigate this incredibly difficult time. Let's not forget the sacrifice he made not only for his country but also as he tried to protect those at his workplace. Sending strength and love to everyone affected by this.
Hey everyone,
I’ve been following Brent Arancio’s case and I keep thinking about the impact his passing has on his family and the community. It’s hard to grasp how someone could lose their life over $150 — it's a stark reminder of the senseless violence that's out there. I read that Brent was always putting others first, whether he was serving his country or working at the motel to provide for his family. It feels so tragic that someone so selfless could be taken in such a cruel way.
I’m really praying for Brent’s wife and their kids. It’s hard to imagine the long-term effects this will have on them and the sheer strength they need right now. I hope the memorial fund is providing some comfort and support in this unimaginable time.
For those who have been following the case, do you think justice will be served, and what kind of sentence might be appropriate for Royalston given the circumstances?

I can tell you justice was NOT served. Under WA law the most he could get would be 27 yrs. Ohio combined 2 of his charges so instead of a 3rd strike it was basically a second. After 5 years, over 100 different hearings 10 total attorneys he chose to plead guilty 10 minutes before he was to take the stand. (take a look at the records sometime). He got 20 yrs on the plea deal which he's now trying to withdraw. He'll get out before 42 yet he killed Brent who was 40.
