I’ve been following Mary Schaffer's case and can’t stop thinking about something her family mentioned during the trial – the idea of a Domestic Violence Registry. It's just devastating to think this tragedy might have been prevented with more protective measures in place. From what I understand, similar registries exist in some places for sex offenders, so why not for domestic violence offenders? It seems like a critical step forward, especially when considering how many lives could potentially be safeguarded. My heart truly goes out to her family. Their push for policy change is so important and courageous. Anyone have any thoughts or information on how a registry like this could realistically be implemented or if there are any places already seeing success with such initiatives?
