I can't stop thinking about the bystander aspect in cases like Naej Belledent's. It's awful to imagine the woman there at that moment, someone who had already endured so much from Stringfellow. She must be carrying a tremendous weight, knowing that she survived another violent chapter while Naej tragically did not. Witnessing such horror and dealing with the aftermath can't be easy for anyone. I truly hope she has a strong support system with friends and family to lean on during this time. It’s stories like these that remind us we need better resources and support for those trying to escape abusive situations. Thoughts are with everyone affected by this loss, and here's hoping the legal system can provide some measure of justice.
