Just came across this case of Patrolman H. Clarence Conner, and I’ve been thinking a lot about the other people who were in custody at that time. It's wild to me how all four individuals, including the shooter, were acquitted. Does anyone know more about what role those other three people played in the altercation? The sources seem pretty light on details about the others involved. I'm really trying to understand how this unfolded—could it have been a case of mistaken identity, or were they just in the wrong place at the wrong time? I can't help but feel for Conner's family, knowing that justice seemed elusive here. His wife and daughters must have gone through so much during that trial. I wonder how they coped with the outcome. If anyone has more info or can point me to additional resources, I’d appreciate it!
