I’ve been thinking about the sheer courage Lillian’s family must have had to face the media and public during the aftermath of her tragic death. It must have been incredibly difficult for her children, Tristan and Felicia, at such young ages to process everything. I can’t even begin to imagine the strength it takes to navigate life in the shadow of something so terrible. It's comforting that they had the support of their grandmother Mabel and Aunt Jackie. No family should have to endure such a devastating loss, and my heart goes out to them even all these years later. Let's keep their family, and all families who’ve suffered at the hands of violence, in our thoughts as these conversations continue.
I just can't stop thinking about Lillian's children, Tristan and Felicia. How do you even begin to explain something so horrific to such young ones? Losing their mother in such a tragic way, and at such a young age, must have turned their world upside down. I hope they had strong support from their family, especially Lillian's sister Jackie and their great-grandmother Mabel. It’s hard to imagine the kind of strength it takes to keep going after something like this. It’s crucial that communities rally around families affected by such tragedies, offering them love, support, and resources to heal and find some semblance of normalcy again. If anyone knows of any fundraisers or support systems that helped them, please share. Maybe it can help others in similar situations.
