I recently read about the sad passing of Pernell Lester over on Fisk Court, and my heart goes out to his family. There’s a lot of chatter online about this case, especially regarding Anthony Johnson's self-defense claim. Something that strikes me is how witnesses didn't back up his story about being fired upon first. It's unsettling to think one man’s life was lost and another's future hangs in the balance potentially based on a story that might not add up. I wonder if the lack of corroboration from witnesses played a significant role in the jury's perception of Johnson’s claims. Hoping justice truly prevails, whatever that might be in this tragic situation. Thoughts are with everyone affected by this senseless act.
