I've been thinking a lot about Dr. Sarah Hendrix and the wonderful work she did in her lifetime. It's absolutely difficult to fathom how someone who dedicated herself to helping families in crisis could have her life end in such a way. I've read that she was incredibly passionate about her work with substance abuse victims, going above and beyond to provide support and guidance to those in need. It's a small comfort to know that she made such a positive impact on many lives, but it's also so tragic that her own family encountered such violence. Those close to her must be reeling from this devastating loss. My heart goes out to all of her colleagues and students at Union College who must be feeling this absence in a very profound way. It's a situation that offers more questions than answers, and I hope those left behind can find peace and healing in time.
I've been thinking a lot about Dr. Sarah Hendrix and her family, and one thing that really stands out to me is the contrast between her life's work and the tragedy that befell her. She was so committed to helping families in crisis, especially around issues of substance abuse and mental health, and yet, this unimaginable violence happened in her own home. It's chilling to think about someone so dedicated to preventing these kinds of situations suffering at the hands of someone she loved. I can't help but wonder if there were any signs or if anyone in Jason's life noticed something amiss leading up to this. It's such a painful reminder that even the most vigilant among us can be blindsided. My heart goes out to the colleagues and community who were undoubtedly inspired by her work. I hope her legacy continues to encourage others in the field.
