I've been thinking a lot about the effect that substance abuse seems to have had on the tragic loss of Ricky Allen Gibson. It's devastating to see how drugs can fuel such violent behavior and result in the loss of a life. I can’t imagine the pain Ricky's family must be going through, especially knowing that this could have been avoided. Addiction is a monstrous thing that drives wedges between people and can turn situations deadly, as it did here. What really stands out to me is the community's response - the way they're rallying around Ricky's family and demanding justice. It’s uplifting to see everyone coming together to support one another in such a difficult time. I truly hope the legal system does right by Ricky and his loved ones. Those truly responsible for his death should absolutely be held accountable for their actions. My thoughts are with everyone who loves Ricky as they navigate this heartbreaking process.
