I can't stop thinking about how this whole tragedy could have been averted if someone had recognized the warning signs earlier. We often hear about the importance of knowing the signs of domestic violence, but it's just so hard to believe something like this could happen when everyone described Nicole and Brent's relationship as normal. My heart goes out to their two little ones who have to grow up without their parents. It's a stark reminder of how crucial it is to check in on our loved ones and support those family and friends who might be struggling in silence. If anyone is local and looking for a way to help, I know there's information floating around about the GoFundMe for the kids. I'm keeping Nicole's family in my thoughts, hoping for some peace for them in this unthinkable situation.

Hey everyone, I’ve been trying to wrap my head around the timeline of when the police were alerted and how quickly things escalated. It’s so difficult to believe that someone inside the apartment had the presence of mind to reach out for help when things must have been so tense and frightening. I can't imagine the fear they must have felt in that moment. It's also so distressing to think about the officers who heard the shots before entering — they must live with that haunting memory. I feel deeply for Nicole's friends and family. It's devastating to lose someone who was clearly loved and cherished by those around her. And my heart especially goes out to the children. While they may not fully understand what happened now, the absence of their mom will be a difficult journey they’ll have to face in the future. It's a small comfort knowing that the community has come together through the GoFundMe page, but it's still such an unfathomable loss. Sending all my thoughts to everyone affected.
