I've been following Tre Lorenzo Henry's case and something that sticks with me is how these stories are repeated in neighborhoods like Washington Park. Tre, known as "Trixx," was just 19 and had so much more to live for. It's haunting how quickly lives can be cut short by gun violence. His friends and family talk about how vibrant and full of life he was, which makes you think about the potential and dreams that were taken away in an instant. I came across a post on Gun Memorial where people lit thirty candles for him. It’s a powerful image—thirty flames representing love, memory, and the hope that maybe someday these senseless acts will stop. It’s sad to see communities grieve over and over again, bearing the brunt of violence beyond their control. It really highlights the urgent need for change and support to prevent young lives from being lost like Tre’s. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved him.
