I’ve been thinking a lot about Darrell Austin and the situation on the South Side. It's just so tough to wrap my mind around how a vibrant 19-year-old isn’t with us anymore. It feels like the community’s voice isn’t being truly heard, and Darrell’s death is another painful reminder of that. It’s discouraging that cases like Darrell’s go unsolved, often because people are too scared to speak up. I wish there was a way to support witnesses better and make them feel safe to come forward. My heart goes out to Darrell's family and friends who are left with so many unanswered questions. What can we do as a community to support them and push for real change?
