I came across this case recently and still can't wrap my head around the senseless loss of Brian Keith Cardwell. He seemed to be a hard-working guy, making an honest living for his kids. I read that he was a dedicated drywall hanger and a devoted father. It just hits you right in the gut to think about what his children must be going through now. I can't imagine how tough this is for his family, especially knowing how much we already struggle with gun violence in places like Louisville. It's another reminder of the toll it takes on not just the victims but the entire community. It's a huge relief they managed to catch the suspect, Courtecy Miles. The video evidence seems pretty damning, and I'm grateful for the witness who came forward. While nothing can bring Brian back, I hope the case against Miles is strong enough to grant some closure to his family and friends. Every step towards justice for Brian's death hopefully also adds weight to efforts preventing further tragedies like this. Sending strength to all who knew and loved him.
