I was reading about the tragic story of Brian Keith Russell, and something that really stuck out to me was how much he seemed like a genuinely good guy just living his life when this awful event happened. It’s unnerving to think that jealousy and rage from someone else could lead to such devastating consequences. I find it beyond disturbing how Gonzalez manipulated people around him, even to the point of convincing an employee to commit such an act for a measly amount of cash and material gain. It makes me wonder about trust and safety in our communities, and how we often don’t really know someone’s true intentions. Sending thoughts and strength to Brian’s family, especially his kids, as they navigate this unimaginable loss.
