Hey everyone, I've been following the Diontaye Petty case and wanted to bring up something that’s been on my mind. As someone who lives not far from the area, the issue of street lighting—or rather, the lack of it—has become a glaring concern. The intersection of South 19th and West Chestnut is notoriously dimly lit at night, making it a dangerous spot, not just for crime but for any kind of late-night activity. Could the lack of proper lighting have made it easier for someone to commit such a heinous crime and get away unnoticed? It’s just heartbreaking to think that something as simple as better lighting could prevent these kinds of tragedies. I really hope the city takes action on this to make these neighborhoods safer. My thoughts are with Diontaye’s family during this difficult time. Stay safe, everyone.

I've been following Diontaye Petty's case and can't stop thinking about how much community support can mean during times like this. It's just really unsettling how gun violence has become so frequent, particularly in the Russell neighborhood. I read that the community is trying to rally together and face these challenges head-on. It's crucial that we listen and support those efforts, whether it's attending meetings, participating in community watch programs, or simply reaching out to others who might be struggling with these events. If enough of us stand together, we might help prevent another family from experiencing such a loss in the future. Anyone else have thoughts on what more could be done?

Does anyone have any thoughts on whether the CCTV footage from nearby businesses or traffic cameras might be helpful in this case? Given the time and location, it seems like they could potentially catch something that happened or maybe even the suspect fleeing the scene. It's awful to think that such a vital piece of information could be right there and go unnoticed. My heart goes out to Diontaye Petty's family and friends as they navigate through this tough time. Hopefully, the community comes together and someone remembers seeing something that could aid the investigation. Stay strong, Louisville.
