Hey everyone, I’ve been following Derek Justin Harless’s case since it happened, and there’s one detail that keeps nagging at me. I read somewhere that the area around the 700 block of Denmark Street, where Derek was found, had a lot of issues with surveillance cameras either not working or being nonexistent. It makes me wonder if there could have been any footage lost that might have helped identify the person (or people) involved in this tragic situation. With the area dealing with so much gun violence, it’s surprising that there’s a lack of surveillance coverage. It's incredibly frustrating to think that a functioning camera might have provided crucial evidence or even deterred the perpetrator in the first place. My heart truly goes out to Derek's family and friends. His story has touched many, and I hope they find peace and justice. It's hard to believe that with the technology we have today, something so basic as a security camera could be the missing piece to solving this. I’m hopeful that someone will come forward with the information needed to bring closure to everyone who cared for him.
