Hey everyone,
I've been following the Mitchell Cochran case pretty closely and something about the suspect's background got me thinking. James Thompson was arrested a few weeks after the murder, but what's striking to me is his previous criminal record, including assault and drug possession. It makes me wonder about the possible connections or encounters he might have had with Mitchell prior to the incident.
Could there have been a history between them that escalated to this tragedy? Or was it more of a random act related to Thompson's past behavior? It's difficult to comprehend how such violence erupts, and I'm hoping the investigation can shed some light on this.
My thoughts are with Mitchell's family during this challenging time. I hope they find the answers and closure they need.
Anyone else have thoughts on how the suspect's past might play into this case?
Take care,

Hey everyone,
I can’t stop thinking about the neighbors who heard those gunshots on October 27th. Witnessing or even just overhearing something like that must be incredibly scary. It’s easy to overlook the impact on a community beyond the direct friends and family of a victim like Mitchell Cochran, who was tragically taken that night.
Imagine sitting in your living room and suddenly hearing gunshots, then realizing someone’s life was just ended outside your doorstep. It sends chills down my spine. I hope those folks can receive any needed support and counseling through such a traumatic experience. The ripple effect of violence reaches much farther than we might initially think.
I’m glad the LMPD kept pushing for answers and managed to arrest Thompson. It feels like a step, albeit small, toward some form of peace. I deeply hope we find out more about what led to this senseless act and that Mitchell’s loved ones find some comfort in knowing people are continuing to support the case.
Wishing strength to everyone involved.
Has anyone else been thinking about the surveillance footage angle in the Mitchell Cochran case? With so many businesses and homes now equipped with security cameras, it feels like there might be more footage out there that hasn't been brought to light yet. It's possible someone caught something on their cam that could be crucial but might not realize its significance. I think it could be a great help to the investigation if people in the area around South 22nd Street check their footage from October 27th, around the time of the shooting. It’s hard to imagine the pain Mitchell’s family and friends are going through, and any small piece of evidence might make a real difference. What do you all think? Are there other ways the community can pitch in to assist the detectives on this one?
