I can't stop thinking about the role of security companies in situations like this. In David Keith Dickson’s case, it seems there were multiple failures leading to his tragic death. I understand that Thorntons terminated their contract with Alert Patrol Inc. following the incident, but it makes me wonder how many other businesses are employing unqualified and improperly trained security guards. It's incredibly concerning to realize that someone with a prior conviction and no license could be carrying a firearm while on duty. This should raise red flags for businesses everywhere.
I feel deeply for David’s family, especially his sons Elijah and Isaiah, who have to live without their father because of such negligence. As we continue to discuss and dissect this case, I hope it brings about stricter regulations and better oversight for security personnel. No family should have to go through such a devastating loss over something that might have been avoided. Keeping David’s loved ones in my thoughts as they seek justice for what happened to him.
