I’ve been following the tragic case of Lakisha Marie Neal, and it’s been heavy on my heart. I wanted to talk about how quick-thinking the security staff at Augie's Bourbon Street Cabaret seemed to be. Witnesses said they did their best to break up the fight between Lakisha and Jasmine Nicole Jones, which must have been a terrifying situation for everyone involved. It’s tragic that anything like this could happen in a place that should have been safe. My heart goes out to Lakisha’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. I've read that Jones later turned herself in with the weapon, which might have offered some small piece of closure in terms of justice, but it certainly doesn't fill the void of losing a loved one. It’s a harsh reminder of how quickly things can escalate and how important conflict resolution is. Thoughts and prayers to everyone affected by this tragedy.
