I’ve been thinking a lot about James Curtis Butts and how this unsolved case impacts his family, especially his two daughters, Jasmine and Jamaia. It's truly unsettling to imagine growing up without answers or closure about your father's tragic death. I can only hope that as time passes, memories of his warmth and love sustain them.
Living in Minneapolis, I’m aware of how crime can set you on edge, but this hits on a very personal level. It's a stark reminder of the work still needed to make our communities safer. Anyone who's familiar with that area around 4th Street N, did you notice any unusual activity around that time back in 2015? Sometimes even the smallest details can make the difference. I’m praying James’ family finds the peace they deserve, and that the community can come together to shed light on this case. ?

Has anyone looked into the area where James was shot for surveillance cameras or any kind of security footage? It's tragic to think his family is left in this situation without answers. I know the area can sometimes be pretty active at night, so there's a chance someone caught something on video. Maybe even neighbors with Ring cameras could have picked up something? It's so frustrating when cases like this remain unsolved, and I can't imagine what his mom and daughters are going through. Hoping someone with information comes forward soon.
