Reading through this case again, I'm struck by the bravery Jason displayed in his final moments. It’s so tragic to see someone who clearly had so much love and determination to protect his loved ones taken away in such a senseless act of violence. Imagining what his girlfriend must have gone through in those terrifying moments is haunting. The courage he showed in trying to disarm the gunman speaks volumes about his character. It's frustrating and infuriating to learn that the assailant, Benjamin Lee Harris, was already on the radar of law enforcement due to his criminal history. It makes you wonder how someone with such a dangerous past was able to roam free to commit such an atrocity. I’m glad his fingerprints were found at the scene, adding another layer of evidence to ensure justice is served for Jason and his family. My heart goes out to Jason’s kids and girlfriend. While nothing will ever bring him back, hopefully, knowing Harris has been apprehended and will face the consequences can offer them some peace in this incredibly difficult time.
