I was really struck by the sheer intensity and tragedy of Iesha Wiley's last moments. The idea that a confrontation that started in a store could escalate into such violence is just so hard to wrap my head around. I was wondering if anyone else has thought about the role bystanders played (or didn't play) in this situation. Given how much foot traffic strip malls usually have, it seems likely there were more people around who might have seen what was happening. I understand it all happened fast, but still, could there have been more done by onlookers to de-escalate before it turned deadly? My heart sincerely goes out to Iesha's family and friends. It's unimaginable to lose someone you love under such circumstances. Remembering all the lives impacted by this senseless act.
